Boston Photographer - Portrait Session v. Mini Session - Which one is right for you?
I love offering two types of portrait sessions for my clients. All I want to do is deliver a gallery you truly love, so I’ve put together a guide to help you decide which type of session is best for you.
You love the idea of having a well rounded gallery with a mix of formal portraits and candid moments
You might want to bring 2 outfits
You’re looking for more variety in scenery
You might want to take a trip outside of the city (you may choose anywhere up to 1 hour within Boston)
You might want a more unique session, like having a picnic or going out on the water to watch the sunset on a sailboat
You want an entire gallery of 60 + photos
You’re more straight to the point type of people
You’re ok with having less variety in your session
You’re ok with staying in 1 location (minis must be on location in Boston)
You’re just looking for a handful of classic portraits
The one thing I caution families with young kiddos when it comes to mini sessions — you may think a mini will be better, because your kids may have short attention spans. While that may be true, if your kiddo isn’t photo ready within the 20 minutes allotted, the session may be wasted. Full portrait sessions give us a generous time buffer. It also allows me to meet your little ones, get to know them, and hopefully make them feel more comfortable being in front of the camera.
Have any questions or interested booking a portrait session? I’d love to hear from you!
