Oh My-konos! 4 days in paradise

When: May 3rd – 6th, 2017
Where: Mykonos, Greece
Stayed: Bill & Coo Suites and Lounge

To say I loved Mykonos would be a serious understatement. If I had it my way, I would live there all of spring and fall. 4 days was not long enough and I can’t wait to share some of the highlights with you all. If you haven’t already, check out the previous post – Island hopping in the Saronic Gulf.

We stayed at Bill & Coo Suites and Lounge the entire length of our stay. The hotel and staff were totally next level, but more on Bill & Coo later. We spent one day exploring the Mykonos city center, which was a charming 10-15 min walk from our hotel. Little Venice (see below) was so picturesque. It was exactly how I imagined it to be after seeing so many photos online. During the day it’s lined with restaurants/cafes and at night they all turn into bars/clubs.

One day we rented an ATV to check out these beaches: Ornos Beach, Panormos Beach, Platys Gialos Beach, Paranga Beach (our favorite), Ftelia Beach and Agios Sostis Beach.

Since there are only a few main streets, getting around most of island is surprisingly easily (and doable in a day), but just FYI,  the streets can get narrow and steep.

We stayed at Bill & Coo Suites and Lounge the entire length of our stay. The staff was so wonderful. They helped us with anything and everything we needed. Upon arrival we received a cell phone wired to dial the concierge to pick us up anywhere/anytime on the island. The rooms were very modern and spacious. They were also equipped with rainfall showers and sonos surround sound. The infinity pool which overlooks Megali Ammos beach speaks for itself. Breakfast was drool-worthy yummy. Wifi was fast and furious haha. I could go on and on about this place, but I’ll stop. If we return to Mykonos, we are definitely staying here again.

Other trip highlights + thoughts

  • If you take the ferry from Athens like we did, it’s definitely worth upgrading to “club" seating. It’s a few dollars extra and it’s way more comfortable.
  • We couldn’t have been happier with the decision to go in May v. June, because the weather was 70-75 and sunny every day and we beat the summer crowd.
  • Everyone talks about how beautiful the sunsets are in Greece, but I found the sunrises to be equally as gorgeous. I woke up early to see them almost every day. (Jon… not so much ha.)
  • People also mention pelicans are frequent visitors among the streets in Mykonos, so I was dying to see one. Sadly, I think it was too early in the summer.
  • The view of Little Venice from the top of the Mykonos Windmills was awesome.
  • If you can, splurge on drinks and dinner at the high-end restaurant Ling Ling.
